Saving Scotland's Red Squirrels (SSRS) covers the entire North of Scotland and RSST is providing support to the North-East component of the project. It aims to protect existing red squirrel populations in the Highlands, Argyll, North-East Scotland and northern Tayside.
RSST supports the Aberdeenshire branch of the project, which aims to eradicate greys from the county. Apart from colonising broadleaved woodland in Aberdeen, grey squirrels have also spread out along the woodland corridors of the river Dee and Don valleys to colonise wider Aberdeenshire.
