The challenges faced by our native red squirrel from the alien North American grey, and an update on the fertility control programme specifically designed to reduce grey numbers, are outlined in a new booklet that can be downloaded free of charge.
Vanessa Fawcett, the operations director of the RSST, says: “This pocket sized booklet gives a clear picture of the challenges from grey squirrels faced by reds and the native British woodland on which they depend. It also lists some of the most likely places to see reds in the wild in the UK.”
